An Act to establish legitimacy to the DSA regional newspaper of Solidarity

Acknowledging the need for the region to be informed of DSA affairs;
Recognizing the success of the regional newspaper of Solidarity;
Observing that Solidarity has been established as an aspect of role play and taken under the Ministry of Role Play;
Realizing that future Ministers of Role Play may not be able to head the newspaper as well as others
Noting that heading Solidarity should not be left to a Cabinet Aide;
Hereby accomplishes the following:

This bill will create the Department of News and Information under Subsection 2.4.8 of the Charter

Subsection 2.4.8 - The Department of News and Information

1. The Director of News and Information shall be appointed by and serve at the
discretion of the Minister of Role Play.
2. The Director of News and Information shall oversee the operation of and reporting of the regional newspaper of Solidarity, which will report on regional news, affairs, and other topics that the Director of News and Information seeks to implement into Solidarity.
3. The Director of News and Information may appoint editors and/or writers to aide them in the operations of Solidarity.
4. The Director of News and Information shall maintain Solidarity news issues and reports such that its format shall be one that is commonly accessible and usable for anyone with a basic level of computer skills. Access of and to Solidarity shall not require the purchase or extensive working knowledge of proprietary software beyond that provided by basic operating system packages widely available for use on personal computers, or free, open-source design software. The Director of News and Information shall coordinate with the President of Congress and the Minister of Role Play as to how to best display Solidarity for the region.

This bill shall amend the text in Subsection 2.4.1.2 to include the new Department

2. Departments within the Ministry of Role Play include but are not limited to:
● Cartography
● The DSA Convention (similar in function to the World Assembly, but on a regional level)
● Games and gaming
● Fantasy Sports Leagues
● Trade and Commerce
● War and Peace
● News and Information

This bill shall move the text that is current in Subsection 2.4.8 to Subsection 2.4.9. as well as amend the text to include the new subsection

Subsection 2.4.8 Subsection 2.4.9 - Rules to be determined by Congress

1. The rules referred to in subsections 2.4.4 thru 2.4.7 2.4.8 may only be established
by an Act of Congress and may not be defined by the Minister of Role Play or
any other Cabinet Member.
