Departmental Reorganization Affecting Gaming & Organizing NationStates™ Sports, Also Migrating Immigration Rightfully, Including Gaming, for Healthier Text
(D.R.A.G.O.N.S., A.M. I. R.I.G.H.T.)
This amendment seeks to edit the Department of Games and Gaming's and Department of Immigration's location in the Charter as well as the Department of Fantasy Sports Leagues's purpose.
With the DoGG becoming a department under the Ministry of Domestic Affairs, the location of the department in the Charter should reflect that. Following the lead of the section of Director of Immigration, this would create an entire new subsection, which seems unnecessary. With that being said, both shall be under the Ministry of Domestic Affairs Section and not be their own subsection independent of the MoDA subsection.
Firstly, the two sections will be cut out
Subsection 2.4.4 - The Department of Games and Gaming
1. The Director of Games and Gaming shall be appointed by and serve at the
discretion of the Minister of Domestic Affairs.
2. The Director of Games and Gaming shall have the responsibility of
organizing gaming events in the DSA.
3. The Director of Games and Gaming may host a gaming event for any game
they choose, but should choose games that are available to or owned by other
NationStates players. The Director of Games and Gaming may host a gaming
event at any time they choose, but should choose to host games at times that
are reasonable to other NationStates players.
4. Any disputes arising from the related actions taken by the Director of Games
and Gaming regarding their duties shall be settled by the Court of the DSA.
Secondly, they will be moved under the Ministry of Domestic Affairs, as well as change Subsection 2.2.9.2 to reflect the Department of Immigration.
Thirdly, as result of this, multiple subsections will have to move down one number, those now being
Alongside this is the Department of Fantasy Sports Leagues. This amendment seeks to change the department to be Department of Sports Leagues. There is almost no one in this region that has been interested enough in Fantasy Sports to have a DSA Fantasy Sports League. The only things that have come out of this Department is Role-Play sports, from the DSA Olympia Summer and Winter Games to the regional tennis tournament, Fimbletintin. Along with this, it is possible that many who might be interested in organizing RP Sports would not want to take up the Department due to the Fantasy Sports aspect. As such, this amendment seeks to drop that aspect from the Department.
This Act shall come into force upon its passage.
