The Nineteenth Amendment to the Charter of the Democratic Socialist Assembly Author(s): Laevendell Co-Signer(s): N/A Date Enacted: 24 August 2011 Final Vote Count: 8-0-0
"This amendment aimed to reduce risks of future concentration of power in the Tribunal to few nations, by limiting consecutive Tribunal terms to one."
The following addition (in bold) is made to Cl. II of Art. II, Sec. IV:
The Tribunal shall consist of three nations elected to one hundred and fifty (150) day terms. A nation elected to the Tribunal shall hold the title of Tribune. Elections for Tribunes are staggered, electing two Tribunes in every other election and one Tribune in the elections in between. A Tribune may only serve one consecutive term, however they may stand for the next half-term election, seventy five (75) days after the end of their term. Each Tribune shall remain a nation in good standing, as set forth in Article I, Section I, Clause I. If an elected member of the Tribunal falls out of good standing, it shall immediately be removed from office. The Secretary-General shall fill any Tribune vacancy by appointing a nation to complete the term of the absent Tribune.
