New to the DSA? Not sure where to start? Let us know who you are, what you're about, and any other interesting things you'd like to share. We can't welcome you if we don't know who you are!
Hi there, I'm new to the region. My nation's name is West Ying, the Jellyfish nation. I've been an on-again-off-again Nationstates player for nearly 12 years, so you could call me seasoned, although it has been a while since i have been active. I have served in several offices across different Nationstates regions over the years, including but not limited to, at different times, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Minister of Defense, Speaker of Parliament and Deputy Prime Minister of New Liberalia, and in the Region of Democrats I served as Vice President and later President and authored several influential (at the time) pieces of legislation. I was also briefly a Senator, if my memory serves, in the Allied States under a different alias. I've been interested in playing Nationstates more frequently, and as a Real-Life dues paying member of the DSA I thought this would be a good fit, especially with such an active RP community. IRL I'm a NYC native who works in Nightlife. Not quite sure where to go from here, and also confused about the two forum setup? Would love some guidance and introduction. Thanks and hope to befriend you all soon. - Will
(I've taken the liberty of copying this from my post today on what I now know is the outdated forum)
Hi! Consul Joshua of Saminda here. Following a rocky start in which I had to crack down on extremism in order to protect my citizens from state-sanctioned homicide, I've successfully distributed power in my nation to local governments, increasing political freedom sufficiently to join the DSA Congress. Thank you for having me!
IRL, I'm an Uber and Lyft driver in Michigan, and NationStates is one of the most relevant things I've done with a Political Science degree. Was briefly a dues-paying member of the SPUSA, a Bernie supporter in the 2016 primaries, and a participant in Occupy Lansing.
My NS country, Saminda, has been influenced by ancient Persia, ancient Rome, and a fictionalized US (Usonia). It's recently voted a Religious Left party (Sunrise) - basically Zoroastrian-derived socialists - into overwhelminng power.
Look forward to chatting and RPing with you all! -Josh
Hello! I am President Michael, Ruler of Maghreb Francais. I have a medium sized, liberal government, with a coalition government of the Nordic Socialist, Workers, and gree parties forming a government. IRL I am a student in Iowa. My nation is only a few months old, and I am excited about beginning life in this region.
Hello, I'm Zoe, representative of the Southern Foxes Nation. I've been on NS for years but never got into RP specially due to the difficulties with the language, but those are getting less and less problematic with time. I love to think and argue about social issues and this seems to be a good place for that, with "like-minded enough" people.
Hello.I am Leolania. To be honest I am a secondary nation to Grod Island,a loyal nation serving fellow leftist region The Leftist Assembly. I was really impressed by this region and thus I have decided to come here. Thank You
Hello. I am the leader of the Republic Of James. New to this whole thingy, played around on nationstates in the past..like...YEARS AGO. Thought I would try something out that I can check into once and a while and I feel like nationstates has that. I think it would be fun. So according to the website (https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=1036665) It says to register on this website that I am typing on now. After that it mentions that I should be able to vote on things, and after that it says "Furthermore, it is needed to opt-in to our Charter and become a Member of Congress." what is this? I don't know what that means? How do I "opt-in" to a "Charter"? I am not a political expert so the terminology is kinda rusty on me.

Hey everyone. I first played NationStates nearly 11 years ago! Even crazier, after rediscovering the game, I found my old nation name was free to reuse - so here I am. I didn’t play for very long then but the game has changed so much since. I’ve never been big on role-play but I love politics (real life and in-game) so I’m hoping I can contribute and play an active part in the DSA.
IRL, I’m British, studying/training in law and am a fully paid up member of the British Labour Party, though I often support the Green Party on a local level and occasionally the Liberal Democrats. I’m in favour of environmental reform, social justice reform, electoral reform and EU membership. I’ve also served as a rep for the NUS LGBT+ Campaign when in university.
Really looking forward to rediscovering this game and getting involved in a community I’m excited to join.
I will be representing my region as an appointed ambassador to the DSA. While there’s no saying when my tenure here will end, it shouldn’t keep me from getting to know you all.
I am mostly new to NS, since I just established my nation around October 2018. NationStates gets a little dry for a while, waiting for issues or editing factbooks nonstop, so I joined the regional forum and applied to various positions until I finally find my way here to your region.
In real life, I’m a first-year medstudent. Since most of Europeia’s administration are more savvy at legal matters than I’ll ever be, I‘ve decided that I might do better in diplomacy than in the legislative side of things. Hence, that is why you guys are stuck with me
Looking forward to working with all of you for the next few months.
EDIT: May I request for a "Diplomat" mask? I do not know where to properly introduce myself as an ambassador or apply for a diplomatic visa
Extremely new nation focused on promoting rights and freedoms to its people and to ensure fair treatment by the government in place of mistreatment by corporations whose only concern is profit. Very new to nationstates, only heard of it on reddit the other day when someone posted a flag of their nation and left a link in the comments.
IRL I took politics A-level and have a major interest in politics in the real world despite going onto work in IT.
Looking forward to this, seems like something I've been looking for to invest time into, I think I'll require some guidance however.

Hi, I'm the owner of The Wind Islands in Nationstates. I started playing Nationstates a long time ago, but since then I forgot what nation I had, so I just made a new one to go along with a worldbuilding project I've got going. I go by a lot of names on the internet, but I like to keep all of them seperate, so for now, you can call me Luca. Any pronouns are fine.
To be honest, I'm rather shy, so I'll probably spend most of my time lurking without commenting on anything. That's how it usually goes, anyway—I'm not really good at initiating conversation, or knowing how to enter conversations in progress, and I'm terrified of accidentally stepping on people's toes, so I usually just keep quiet. I hope that's fine.
I'm not sure if these introductions are supposed to be RP or IRL, so I'll give both.
RP: I'm Lila Ulaksy, founder and international representative of the Democratic States of Lyuga. Lyuga was founded from the sudden collapse of a large authoritarian kingdom, and Lyuga is a very democratic socialist nation. I'm kinda new to politics, so I might mess up a bit, but I'll try to do what's best for the people of Lyuga!
IRL: I created Lyuga because I was bored, and figured that if I tried to be as outgoing as possible to prevent ending up as a socialist nation in a libertarian region like I did last time I created a nation in NationStates. I'm trying to make Lyuga very democratic and socialist, but I might decide on something else, but I will make sure to stay within the rules for being in this region.
Good evening. My name is Starry, and I am the leader of the Nomadic People of Snowastor (pronounced SNOW-uh-stohr), and it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. My people have escaped the genocide that threatened to eradicate them from the map entirely, and have currently decided to take up home in your region. We are currently a fledgling nation with grand hopes for a glorious future that involves the happiness and wellbeing of all we come across. We hope to become great friends with the rest of you.
(Out of RP) Hi everyone My name is Andie, and it's a pleasure to meet you all! I'm actually taking a political science class at the moment, and have a passion for politics, so I decided it would be fun to try out NationStates again. Right now, my country is in a bit of a rough spot, but hopefully, we'll get out bearings soon! It's a pleasure to meet you all, and I hope we become great friends
Secretary-General - 1st Council President & WAD - 33rd, 34th and 35th Cabinet Minister of Foreign Affairs - 32nd Cabinet Minister of Domestic Affairs - 30th and 31st Cabinet Minister of Immigration and Regional Promotion (Defunct) - 28th Cabinet
Hiya. My nation is the United Syndicates of Sol. I've been hanging around in the region for a fair while now, but haven't really done much of anything. I've been getting more interested in actually writing up factbooks and participating in the wider environment of the whole NationStates thing.
I’ve messed about with NationStates for some time, but only switched to the United Syndicates of Sol as my main nation relatively recently after a hiatus. I started it because I was messing around trying to make flags for a D&D campaign and thought it’d be neat to do something with the zodiac symbols for planets. Syndicalism is also Pretty Neat, and I’m very interested in agriscience/sustainability, & will probably end up focusing my studies pretty heavily in the area. That all sort of combined into Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Syndicalism.
