I think this may be my first post on this forum but I've been here for a while now and I find this discussion fascinating. I'll be voting no to leaving. I think that it's important to be a part of the conversation with people we don't agree with. I think we have an important voice that is better heard from within the organization than without. I am not all that active on the discord or, frankly, even on this forum so of course my perspective may be skewed because I'm new to the region and haven't been involved in earlier discussions on the matter. But my perception is that we have more in common with the regions in NSLeft than not and more in common with them than other regions in the game at large.
Y'all are making this sound like it came entirely out of the blue. I have been involved in this debate for about a year now, to say nothing of how long it has been going before my involvement. It's not like the DSA as a silent majority just decided to form a shadow cabal when this legislation first started seeking sponsors, we've all been debating and fighting over this for months. It's not new, we've all known for a while some of us wanted to leave. And people absolutely talked about debated over this legislation. They talked and debated for more than the past year in the regional affairs and congressional affairs channels. They talked and debated the last time we had this legislation before it was withdrawn. And they talked and debated over it everytime NSLeft officials caused issues in our discord. This isn't new, it's just a vote to settle a debate that's been going on for a very, very long time. Will the DSA tolerate people who refuse to respect human rights or not?
Again. This isn't a game, this is a symbol. How you vote dictates your answer to that question. I heartily encourage all of you to vote to withdraw from the Solidarity pact. It causes nothing but issues, and it is our obligation as Leftists to illustrate we will not associate with those who give totalitarians a platform.

There's a difference between argument on a subject and debate on legislation. This is a bill with power in our region. There's a difference between talking in hypothetical (when there wasn't a bill) and talking in demonstration (when there actually is a bill). I was not talking about opposition not knowing about the debate, but not knowing about the actual bill that has actual weight.
And for your last part, you seem to present it as "It's either a game or a decision on morality and this isn't a game", like it is not that serious. Yes this does go beyond just game aspects, but it is not as dire and giant as you present it. We're an online group, not the real life DSA. What we do is all in reference to NationStates, not a debate to be witnessed by millions
A moral question's answer doesn't need to be witnessed by anyone. It is important because it is a question of our own morality and values. That is important even if no one would ever know the answer. It is dire and it is giant because this is a question of all of our own moral values. It is a very real question about if we want to respect human rights above all other things or not. It doesn't matter if that's in reference to a NationStates alliance or an actual one, because the views I refer to remain the same and as Leftists we are obligated to combat those views.
