Do you have a cryptid in your nation that you want to share? Do you want to tell us about the monsters that go bump in the night for your people? Well this thread is just for that! Share your monstrosities and delights here so that we can grow the DSA Cryptobiology World!
Gaelicats are pretty mischievous creatures, often pranking mountaineers. However, as cats they are also pretty sneaky and reclusive and rarely seen as a result. You can theoretically hike through the entire mountain range without ever seeing one; however, you better believe they see you. Most people believe them to be hallucinations of half-frozen men and women who barely survived their trip into the Yanxia mountains, especially since nobody ever brought one back either dead or alive. They are occasionally reported to lead people to shelter, too. As far as diet goes, they feed on small mammals and birds, often using their wings to snatch young birds out of their nests. Most of the time they glide rather than fly to conserve energy, but they are capable of flying short distances. In the summer months they occasionally hunt upwards of the snow border, in winter they are strictly arboreal.
The Iljunfant ika are enormous fish, reaching lengths of 12 to 15 meters (40 to 50 feet). Although they are mainly colored a light shade of yellow, broken patterns of orange are prominent down their backs, between their eyes, on the tips of their fins, and in small circles around the bases of their tails. Variations of this color pattern can be seen on most Iljunfant ika. The fish features a single dorsal fin supported by about half a dozen spines. Additional fins include a pair of pectoral fins, a pelvic fin, and an anal fin on the ventral side of the creature, as well as a relatively small, single-lobed caudal fin. Iljunfant ika also possess barbels on the sides of their mouth as a physical attribute. They typically travel in small schools, but when disturbed, they are known to separate in an effort to evade a predator. On occasion, the fish swim directly below the surface of the water, exposing their dorsal fin, and can be witnessed jumping great heights out of the water. Fun Fact the islanders of Arjarere used to hunt them now they try to surf them.

The Eye Alapuerta is a nation that plays a lot of VR. A LOT of VR. Even with the best of urban engineers, 30 million people in a space the size of NYC is a tight squeeze, and people rarely have enough room for anything besides a bed, bathroom, kitchenette, and a VR playspace. The most popular of these, is a game called BLANK. BLANK is, in essentials, a total sandbox. Anything that can be modeled and coded can be added, and anyone can create games, build scenery, or build societies.
As of 8/16/2020, the Magistrate has officiated 3 communities' right to nationhood, all of these communities in BLANK.
One of them, is gone.
The Nickelback Nation was a Monarcho-Mutualist utopia situated north of the True Origin, with one of the best economies that had been seen so far. Spanning over 90vkm2 of urban dieselpunk landscape, bearing a regular playercount of 3 million, and lead by the benevolent hand of King Bruh Saonafectu (Nick Lakesmith).
The Nickelback Nation disappeared at 7:09 PM on 6/17/17, caused by the unexpected and heartbreaking assassination of Nick Lakesmith. The legends say that, when first responders arrived to the scene, Nick's left eye was gouged out of his head, and nowhere to be found.
Over the next few years, reports and rumors began to spread of a floating eye that would relentlessly chase down players seemingly at random, specifically until they cried. Most of these contacts with the Eye were in the Great Northern Void, the invisible corpse of the Nickelback Nation. The Eye is a flat sprite which attempts to make eye contact with the player by all means necessary, including impersonation of the player's friends. The Eye has been observed to move at over 485,000 vkm/h (133 vkm/s) when chasing down faraway players. If eye contact occurs, the battery of the headset being used will explode through sudden overheat, with temperatures maxing out at over 2,400 degrees celsius. If the battery is mounted on the headset, it is likely to kill the wearer. As such, over 19 fatalities have been recorded due to sudden combustion of the battery.
The Makaramo The Makaramo is a gigantic man-eating crocodile-like beast that lives in the open-ocean. It is believed that people who disrespect the ocean and/or mistreat the sea creatures will eventually fall victim to the Makaramo. It is also used as a sort of boogeyman to keep small children from straying too far along the coastline.
