With the approaching asteroid that will wipe out all life on the DSA, it would seem that our only option is to use nuclear weapons against the asteroid. However, this would violate Resolution 5, Article 5, which states
Considering the life-threatening situation we find ourselves in, this proposals seeks to temporarily repeal this Article from Resolution 5.
I would also like to remind all members of DSAC that this Resolution does not repeal any or all part of Resolution 2, which does not allow for countries to have any WMDs outside of nuclear weapons.
I consider this more than a threat to international peace and security. With that, I call upon Subsection B of Clause 4 of our Charter and bring the above immediately to vote.
Article 5 – Prohibition on Extraterrestrial Use of Weapons of
Mass Destruction
5.1 – Pursuant to Article 4.1†, the extraterrestrial use of weapons of mass destruction (‘WMDs’) is prohibited.
5.2 - WMDs include, but are not necessarily limited to, nuclear weapons and chemical and biological agents.

- This Resolution repeals Article 5 of Resolution 5 from the moment the vote ends to once either the asteroid is destroyed, has passed, or has hit. After, the Article will be reinstated.
- Once the Article is reinstated, any and all locations and/or facilities in outer space that contain WMDs must either deconstruct the weapons or bring the weapons back to the DSA.
