The following is inserted as Art. III, Sec. III, "Legislation":
Article III, Section III: Legislation
Subsection I. Passing Legislation
Clause I. A Member of Congress in good standing may draft bills for the consideration of the Congress of the Assembly. These bills can be of any length, and after they are written, all bills must be submitted to the sub-forum titled “Proposed Legislation.”
Clause II. Once a bill has been submitted to the “Proposed Legislation” sub-forum, the President of Congress must open up the bill for a five (5) day scrutiny period. This scrutiny period can be extended indefinitely if needed. The individual proposed changes for the scrutiny shall be individually voted on for four (4) days after the scrutiny is ended, and these changes shall be passed by a simple majority.
Clause III. Following the scrutiny period, the bill shall then be voted on by the Congress of the Assembly for seven (7) days, and if the bill receives a simple majority, it shall be moved to the “Current Legislation” sub-forum and implemented.
Subsection II. Repealing Legislation
Clause I. A Member of Congress may draft a repeal of any passed legislation by simply submitting a new bill to repeal the legislation in the “Proposed Legislation” sub-forum. The repeal process shall be carried out in the exact same way as the regular bill process.
Clause II. Once a repeal is passed with a simple majority, the former legislation shall be moved to the “Former Legislation” sub-forum, and all of the positions, departments, and conditions created by that legislation shall be removed from be removed from the “Conditions of Passed Legislation” thread and from practice.
Subsection III. Categorization of Passed Legislation
Clause I. After a bill is passed in the Congress of the Assembly, all of the positions, departments, or conditions must be recorded in the “Conditions of Passed Legislation” thread, which shall list all of the current legislation-based aspects of the DSA.
Clause II. The “Conditions of Passed Legislation” thread shall be specifically divided into a list of all legislation-based departments, positions, and conditions. Each of these shall also be specifically defined.
