Chapter I: General Provisions
1. This act may be referred to as the Gracious Extent To Offer Freedom From Managing Your Log-in, Away With Nationstates Act, GET OFF MY LAWN Act, or the Get Off My Lawn Act

1. The following shall be added to the Definitions sections

Senatus Emeritus - a member of the Democratic Socialist Assembly without an active NationStates account given limited congressional status
Subsection 2.1.4 - Senatus Emeritus
1. Any Member of Congress may apply for Senatus Emeritus status for themselves
2. If given Senatus Emeritus status, a player may continue to possess Resident and Member of Congress status within the Democratic Socialist Assembly without having an active NationStates account.
3. A Senatus Emeritus shall have the same powers, rights, priviledges, and responsibilities as other Members of Congress. However, a Member of Congress with Senatus Emeritus status may not serve as a Department Director, Councilor, Administrator Emeritus, Court Clerk, High Judge, or as an interim for any of these listed positions while possessing Senatus Emeritus status.

2. If given Senatus Emeritus status, a player may continue to possess Resident and Member of Congress status within the Democratic Socialist Assembly without having an active NationStates account.

Article 5 - Senatus Emeritus
Section 5.1 - Senatus Emeritus Procedures
Subsection 5.1.1 - Application
1. A Member of Congress seeking to possess Senatus Emeritus status must apply for this status to the Secretary-General for confirmation as to if they are eligible to possess this status.
2. The Secretary-General will have 8 days to verify if said Member of Congress is eligible for Senatus Emeritus status. If the Secretary-General does not issue a verification status within 8 days or is unable to, the High Judge must then issue a verification status within 4 days. If the High Judge does not or is unable to, then the Council must do so within 4 days. if the Council does not or is unable to, then varification shall be left to a congressional vote with simple majority needed to pass.
Subsection 5.1.2 - Eligibility
1. To be eligible for Senatus Emeritus status, a Member of Congress must meet the requirements of this subsection.
2. They shall have resided with a nation within the Democratic Socialist Assembly NationStates region for at least one (1) consecutive year immediately prior to application.
3. They shall have been a Member of Congress within the Democratic Socialist Assembly for at least one (1) consecutive year immediately prior to application.
4. They shall have demonstrated considerable, frequent, and sustained activity in the Democratic Socialist Assembly for at least one (1) consecutive year immediately prior to application.
5. They shall have and maintain an account on the most present form of the Democratic Socialist Assembly off-site forum.
Subsection 5.1.3 - Trial Period
1. If approval is given to an application, the applicant shall undergo a trial period of one-hundred and twenty (120) days following approval to demonstrate they will maintain sustained activity in the community. Failure to demonstrate sustained activity in this trial period shall revoke the varification granted to them. What constitutes substained activity shall be of the call of the verifiers in the order listed in Subsection 5.1.1.2 of this document.
2. Accommodations or temporary exemptions for activity requirements may be made for a trialing Member of Congress for reasons of mental health, time consuming activities in real life, loss of internet access, or other such reasons. Members who require accommodations or exemptions shall notify the community in some way. No member shall be expected to disclose specific details of their real life happenings or situations in their notification.

Subsection 5.2.1 - Maintenance
1. A Member of Congress with Senatus Emeritus status must have and maintain an account on the most present form of the Democratic Socialist Assembly off-site forum. Failure to do so while possessing Senatus Emeritus status shall cause said Member of Congress to have their Senatus Emeritus status revoked.
